Q: What type of wax do you use?
A: I use a hard wax that is a stripless wax. It is less painful, less messy, and quicker than your average strip wax. The wax I use is also hypoallergenic and vegan and cruelty-free.
Q: Does it hurt?
A: The pain level you experience depends on the specific person’s pain tolerance and the area that is getting waxed. The first time you get an area waxed is usually a little more uncomfortable that the next sessions that follow. I always tell everyone to try it a second time and not to give up after the first time.
Q: How long does it last?
A: Waxing a new area for the first time is going to take time for the hairs to get onto the same hair growth pattern. There is 3 different cycles of hair growth so typically by the 4th time of getting waxed every 3-4 weeks, all the hairs should be on the same cycle growing together, resulting in longer lasting and smoother results. After the first time getting waxed, you will notice the first set of hairs coming in about a week later, then the next set after that and then the third set. Patients and consistency is key!
Q: How long do the hairs need to be?
A: For the body area, your hairs need to be about 1/4” long which is about the size of a grain of rice or 1.5-2 weeks or hair growth!
Q: Can I get a brazilian/bikini wax on my menstrual cycle?
A: Yes, as long as you have a tampon in its fine. Although, you may be more sensitive to pain!
Q: What shouldn’t I do after my wax?
A: It’s not recommended to do any physical activity or excessively sweat after a wax due to having open pores. Sweat and bacteria can get in your pores and you will most likey break out. Going swimming in a pool or ocean will irritate your skin and/or make you break out.
Q: Do I need to do any at home care?
A: Yes, exfoliating your skin 2-3 a week will help remove dead skin cells to allow the hairs to be able to grow back out and minimizing your chance of getting ingrown hairs. Start exfoliating 48 hours after your waxing service. Moisturizing your hair/skin daily will help prevent your hairs from breaking when getting waxed.
Q: Do I need to do anything before my waxing service?
A: Prepping your skin by exfoliating 2-3 a week will help allow the hairs to be grabbed by the wax, giving you better results.
